Compressor failures cluster at two points: within the first few thousand miles, from contamination or install error, and near end of life, from accumulated wear. A 30 to 90 day salvage warranty covers the first cluster but expires long before the second. A one to three year reman warranty covers both the infant window and the first stretch of normal service.
